Our Story

HISTORY AND OPERATIONS

Metro Thrive Enterprises was established in the small farming town of Bustos, Bulacan last May 13, 2015 as a simple fish trading company that buys and sell freshly harvested cream dory from local fish pond operators and sells it directly to consumers house to house or through retailers in various communities in Bulacan and Pampanga. But today, the company moves tons of fresh produce to several regional trading post and become a critical supply chain partner for several institutions and major markets.

Throughout its existence, the company aims to provide and distribute fresh farm products and services that can make food affordable while improving food access and security to the communities it operates upon.

The vision then of the company was unclear as the couple only seeks to find a livelihood just for themselves but as it progresses over the years, the purpose has become clearer than before for they to felt the pangs of hunger even in the countryside.

The founder, Mr. Quentin Que Jr. or Jhun Que to its peers has decided to leave the corporate world as Senior Vice President of a major conglomerate located in Metro Manila to answer the call to be a preacher in his wife’s farming town. Coming from an employee lifestyle, life has been a struggle financially for there are accustomed to the steady 15/30 income that even their own food has to be borrowed to a local sari-sari store.

One day, his wife Liezl said to him, how can the people here believe that your FATHER is rich if you yourself is struggling to make a living. This is a striking blow to his faith and ego as a husband. Jhun searched for a product that he can sell, with only a old two-stroke motorbike of his father-in-law used for farm and market duties, he started selling around 20 to 30 kilos of catfish to sell it and make a simple living.

Actually his costumers knew he is arriving because the tricycle he use is so old that it emits smoke signal and has a loud percussion band built-in 😊 Kidding aside the business surely slowly grew as he also teach stay-at-home moms how to operate a small ihaw-ihaw business in their communities.

In less than a year, God blessed them to purchase a small 1989 model truck. However May 1, 2020 his unlicensed brother-in-law got involve in a vehicular accident thus Jhun has to work fast to save his brother from being sued for driving without licensed. So they went to Caloocan LTO to seek help from his friend who work there but the said person was moved to Navotas LTO which happens to be inside the Navotas Fishport Complex.

While in the port, he was unaware of what the purpose of a fishport is, so he asked around whom or where he can sell his catfish. But the unexpected blessing of God is unreal when he asked the guy who sit on the doorway steps that night ordered for 450kg of Cream Dory (Pangasius) which is another inland fishpond grown fish of Bustos, Bulacan, then another 700kg the following day and to date the averages daily order of Metro Thrive's Pangasisus is around 2,000 to 4,000 kg of Cream Dory.

Within the five years of operations, Metro Thrive has able to provide investable funds and financial credentials to expand into other businesses like restaurants, events places with being used by the ministry for free and a repacking hub for relief operations.

To date, the founder Jhun Que is completing his Master of Entrepreneurship program at the Asian Institute of Management to prepare the foundation of Metro Thrive Enterprises and its subsidiary Metro Aquasia Corp. to prepare the Philippines for export market of the agricultural produce.

He chose to study in the institution not just for himself but to be able to serve the community and his team more efficiently. As he always said being in the business, we always have a lot of stakeholders and we owe it them for whatever we have to better extol the Kingdom of God.
